Earth Dad

New York band Earth Dad

Named after the best planet on Earth, Earth Dad is a New York City-based space ghost pop, alternative, jangle/dream-pop band. Started by Teo Hedigan and Elliot Kleinman, the boys were quickly joined by their best friends and musical collaborators Julian Kaufman, Dylan Samuel, Emma Kiran Lee and Aidan Ludlam.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Men I Trust, DIIV, (Sandy) Alex G, Porches, Beach House, Alvvays, IAN SWEET, Steve Lacy, John Maus, Kraftwerk, New Order, and Frankie Cosmos, the kids express their ghostly emotions using jangly yet smooth guitars, providing an enjoyable and introspective experience and leaving everyone with an optimism for the future in space travel.

They combine driving drum parts, expressive bass lines, honest vocals, and angelic harmonies all with the untempered emotion that only such young, naive space rats can muster. At 19 and 20 years old, the kids of Earth Dad are just getting started, but their new EP Learning Music boasts strong talent and a desire to take risks in songwriting, production, and in blending genres.

“Mellowly lush music that fuses pop and shoegaze with a bit of nervous energy [...] lush eldritch lofi."  Cerealand Sounds, 2018

"Sunlight streams into an attic window bouncing off faux gold jewelry and speckles across a painting of a zoomed in face.” SMALL ALBUMS (Townies review, 2018)

“They remind me a little of neofolk, but a happy neofolk. In general it is a good record.” Propuesta Cultural (Townies review, 2018)
