St Patrick's Day video update from SXSW

No Irish bands? Not today but a pint of plain will taste even better watching Noah & The Loners & THUS LOVE

Day 3 of our video coverage from SXSW on Paddy's Day and what's this? No Irish acts? Yeah sorry folks, scheduling issues put paid to that (we're at least a day behind). Still got some quality for you with one from each side of the pond.

The first band in the mix deserve to be obv but also Julia promised their parents. We're down with the bands and their OG progenitors. And there is an Irish connection as Noah channels his inner John Lydon on a cover of the Pistols' God Save The Queen.

Noah and the Loners are fronted by 18 year old singer songwriter Noah Lonergan on vocals and guitar, with Amber Welsh on bass, Joseph Boyle on guitar and Noah Riley on drums. Their manifesto? We have something to say and we're saying it loud be it teenage love, toxic masculinity, racism, corruption or the climate crisis.

You can find all NATL details in their SXSW bio.

Next Thus Love who have featured in a previous Blowtorch blog. Hailing from Brattleboro, Vermont the trio have a bond cemented by their experience as outsiders looking in. DIY is an ethos that reflects not only their musical vision but their very existence as three self-identifying trans artists. From the band’s inception, Echo Mars (she/her), Lu Racine (he/him) and Nathaniel van Osdol (they/them) have lived together under the same roof, designed and produced their own merch, and even created their own recording studio from scratch.
