Out now is the new single Man Song from Sligo's purveyors of post punk chaos Some Remain. It's their first release since 2025's debut EP Feel Low. A bass driven catchy dance-punk single, it's a departure from the band's usual fast paced post-punk noise, while still maintaining their anarchic energy. Man Song features a stripped back groove and a cutting chorus, lyrics riffing on tongue in cheek 'manosphere' ambitions and climaxing in signature Some Remain havoc.
Feel Low is still on all streaming platforms and a 12" violet vinyl record. It contains previous singles Death Defying Stunts and Feel Low along with 3 new tracks, Marvelous Medicine, On Tap and Henri. As one review had it "fast paced power chords and upbeat rhythms have you headbanging at super sonic speeds. I felt like I was taken back to CBGBs or the hardcore LA scene in the 80s."
Some Remain are from Sligo on the West coast of Ireland and are made up of Jamie (Vocals), Colm (Guitar), Leo (Bass), Matthew (Drums). Their blistering 'Live at Rumble Studios' video on YouTube first brought them to our attention and generated a real buzz when it was released in November 2020.
Previous singles were debut Television, Walk Away, Never Enough, Knuckle Sandwich, Dead Sound and Death Defying Stunts. Their recorded output manages to capture the high energy madness of their live shows which are noisy, unpredictable and always great craic. They have gig regularly around Ireland bringing their mix of high energy, alternative, post-punk and garage/noise rock. With the odd Lizzo cover thrown in.
