TV People is the project of Paul Donohoe (vocals, guitar) and Brendan Clarke (drums); a band who create their dark, atmospheric yet melodic sound from a fusion of alternative rock and post-punk influences. Since forming in 2019, they have honed their craft in venues throughout Ireland such as Whelan’s, The Button Factory and Mike The Pies. They also have a string of acclaimed releases. String, Nothing More, Time Eats Up & Kitchen Sinking have seen the band tipped by Hot Press as one of their ‘Ones to Watch for 2021’. Reviews and plays have also come from CLASH Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Amazing Radio, RTÉ & more.

"Carrying on Ireland's legacy for excellent post-punk, TV People have exploded onto the scene in 2020. Their latest offering is brooding and dark, filled with driving drums and hazy guitars, and reflects on self-destructive behaviour as self-medication"

The band’s introspective, moody and existential style has received national and international acclaim from leading music magazines, blogs, radio shows and an ever expanding fanbase. TV People aim to further build on this momentum in 2021 with new tracks and live shows.

Refreshed and inspired anew by the relentlessness, energy and sheer indomitable spirit of Dublin, their new single Out of the Silence was released on July 1. They have also announced a hometown headline show upstairs at Whelan’s on 7th October 2021.

Late August saw their debut EP Nothing More released digitally with a vinyl pre-order. This included a brand new track Shallow Minds. The next stage starts now as their sound develops with nods to their influences and eyes on an exciting future.

“The band's brooding sound matches outright directness to a sense of weighty melancholy, recalling everyone from The Sound to Editors in the process."
