Japanese Jesus are a two-piece act from County Limerick made up of Bertie Kelly (vocals, guitars and bass) and Denny Dunworth (drums). After working with them on the release of single Bus Weirdo, we were delighted to continue our collaboration leading to the vinyl and digital release of their brilliant 5 track EP Depression Breakfast.

Bertie and Denny previously played under the guise of Supermodel Twins in the noughties, recording their debut album with Noel Hogan of The Cranberries on production duties.

Bertie also plays bass in Limerick supergroup SWEETS made up of members from Windings and Giveamanakick.

Their most recent release is A Wall To Climb Over, their debut album.

This features Bertie on guitar, bass and all songwriting duties; the songs were produced, recorded and mastered by Ben Wanders, who also played drums, in Limerick's Wanderland studios.

The album shows no drop in intensity from their earlier releases. Indeed it seems that the band’s talent for crafting catchy, hook-filled songs which pack a brutal punch is as strong as ever. Heavy and melodic, any fans of USA Nails, Fugazi, Pissed Jeans and Nirvana will be very happy with this.
