Uncompromising and uncategorisable, Galway's chaotic noise makers Slyrydes have always been a band with something to say - in their own way. Their raw, unfiltered brand of post punk noise earned them critical acclaim for a string of singles exploring mental health, addiction, and the darker edges of modern life. 2025 saw the release of their debut album What Happens If You Get Happy? and an Irish tour.

“From the beginning, we said we wanted to make important music, the kind that mattered to people,” says bassist Eoin Reilly. “We really lived it. Now we are in a healthier place to put this music out and give it the platform it deserves.”

As guitarist Mark Comer wryly notes: “It’s been a long road, but maybe we needed that time apart to figure out who we really are. This album is our story.”

Originally Slyrydes comprised frontman Mark Raftery (Rafto), Mark Comer, Eoin 'Fuz' Reilly and Paul Clarke on drums. Paul has been replaced by Darklands Studio's legendary producer Dan Doherty for the upcoming live shows. As Rafto says "it's like replacing Maradona with Messi."
