THE GOPNIKS

With a sound which may or may not be punk, post-punk, psychobilly or garage rock, Galway's THE GOPNIKS defy categorisation and sound like no other band in Ireland. 'Like Tom Waits on speed' according to author Phil Strongman.

Driven by frontman Ben Cash's acerbic, caustic drone-drawl, with a tightly repetitive guitar, bass, drum, synth backing, THE GOPNIKS released their debut single WHITE CAT in March 2025 followed by MR MANNEQUIN in April.

June 2025 saw the release of their second single SEES BANSHEES IN THE TREES b/w COLONEL FLAB DREAM and a sound which moved away from their early gothbilly into something more akin to the spidery eerieness of Dragnet era The Fall. Urban and Western as opposed to Country and Northern.​​

The full band lineup is Ben Cash - vocals, Patryk (Pakman) Bak - keyboards, Lucas Biggs Packard - guitars, Andy Toma - bass and Adam Martyn on drums.
