One of our favourite ever Blowtorch releases was the 2023 EP Depression Breakfast from Limerick alt rock/hardcore duo Japanese Jesus. They have now followed up with their debut long player A Wall To Climb Over.


Despite frontman Bertie Kelly playing bass in another Limerick band SWEETS and delivering a recent solo EP as The Ham, the album shows no drop in intensity from their earlier releases. Indeed it seems that the band’s talent for crafting catchy, hook-filled songs which pack a brutal punch is as strong as ever.


Heavy and melodic, any fans of USA Nails, Fugazi, Pissed Jeans and Nirvana will be very happy with this.
