Nixer release new single 'The Roy Keane Theme'
Nixer collaborate with Grace O'Malley on The Roy Keane Theme, a spoken word take on the football legend's on time ideology.

Nixer have released The Roy Keane Theme a spoken-word spiral of anxiety, ritual and dark humour, inspired by a Roy Keane TV pundit moment around his ideology of being “on time”.
Wrapped in a skeletal goth-punk guitar soundtrack, the track follows a frantic walk where being on time becomes an all-consuming obsession, drifting between obsessive thought patterns, absurd observations and moments of self-awareness. Minimal drums and haunted guitars leave space for every word to feel like an internal monologue echoing through empty streets at night. Equal parts unsettling, funny and painfully relatable, it’s a song about a walking narrator whose biggest enemy is time itself.
Describing the track, lyricist Seán Keenan states: “For me, this track is Nixer. For many people it might sound very different to any Nixer release to date, but it embodies the feeling, passion, anxiety, and Irishness that cloaks the project. It was also made in my bedroom, just like 90% of the music I’ve ever released, so it feels so real.
"I’ve been working out of my SE London studio for the last 2 years, but this track predates that, and it feels even more relevant to me now. It’s also the first release with Grace. We’ve been friends, collaborators, bandmates, for years now. We’ve made loads of music and messed with tonnes of ideas and this is the first one we’ve ever shared with the world. That feels special to me. I love Grace!”
Grace O’Malley, who is a long-term collaborator with Nixer & Keenan, co-wrote and co-produced The Roy Keane Theme in a recording session the pair had in a SE London bedroom in 2023. It’s the first of many songs, ideas, sessions, to make it out publicly in the world from the pair’s years of collaborating.
Describing the track, Grace said: “I’ve worked with Nixer/Seán for years now. It’s so cool to be releasing something together and plus Seán is the reason I have my Irish passport!!!"
