Belfast based dream pop/shoegaze band Virgins release non album single gliss ahead of UK tour
Track: gliss
Band: Virgins
Released: October 3 2024
Virgins have released a non album single gliss, previously only available as bonus track for those who bought the vinyl album on Bandcamp.
It was recorded during the same sessions which yielded the tracks for nothing hurt and everything was beautiful with producer Jonny Woods.
‘gargantuan fuzz, euphoric shimmering guitar leads and ethereal vocals’ - BBC Across The Line
As Virgins' founder and guitarist Michael Smyth discussed in our album deep dive podcast, gliss was the first song written after the tracks that made up the debut EP transmit a little heaven. It acts as a bridge between the EP and the more pop-oriented album, a sonic clue which links what came before to what was to follow.
There's plenty going on for Virgins right now. The album is on the shortlist for Album of the Year in the Northern Ireland Music Prize; they play Other Voices in Wales November 1 and 2 and then they embark on a UK tour. Catch them in a small venue while you can.
