Dublin band Soundstrand playing live

Soundstrand are a four piece band from Finglas, North Dublin. Formed in 2017, Soundstrand are composed of four Finglas natives. Using the inventive, witty and somewhat charming lyrics of chief lyricist & bassist Shane Aherne, Dara Clancy provides a cutting edge sound by way of slick chord progressions, catchy hooks and driving lead guitar. Supported by the solid foundation of David Solola’s rhythm guitar, Jude Finn uses imaginative drum fills to elevate the song, while keeping it all grounded at the same time.

Following a string of local gigs, the band played notable venues such as Drop Dead Twice, the Adelphi Theatre and the National Concert Hall. After releasing five songs, written over the course of the band’s lifespan, as ‘Words That Rhyme’ in October 2019, Soundstrand played their local Finglas Fright Night Festival to a large crowd. Using the momentum, the band ran a charity gig featuring Public Warning and local band Liberty in Finglas in February  2020. Shortly after a show with Garageland in the National Concert Hall, the band’s promising 2020 was halted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Instead of wallowing in the misery of the derailment of a year full of promise, Soundstrand cracked on by writing & improving songs to create their ideal EP. Set to be released during 2021, ‘Man Made Boys’ is the outcome. The first single from the EP titled (If it’s Easy) You’re Doing it Wrong was released in January and is available on all platforms.
