Check Please!

Check Please! is the project of Marissa Dai from Houston, Texas. Previously called Catsica she changed to Check Please! in December 2020. Inspired by Rufus Wainwright, Taylor Swift and Snail Mail; and with influences ranging from Nat King Cole via The Velvet Underground to Tame Impala, Check Please! delivers woozy, melodic dream pop. 'Homewrecker' on our vinyl compilation

As 2020 turned to 2021, Marissa felt she had outgrown Catsica and the type of music she was releasing. Check Please was her original name so it seemed natural to return to it at this point. As she said "I think now I'm just coming into my own and creating a more distinct image."
