A Right Result is the third Blowtorch Records compilation LP and features one track from each of the bands on the lineup for the show.
Band: Various
EP: A Right Result - Blowtorch Classics vol 3
Release: May 1 2025

To accompany the inaugural Blowtorch Showcase on May 1, we released a vinyl compilation featuring one track from each band playing. It's a brilliant snapshot of the depth of talent on the label.
A Right Result side A (upstairs)
1. Adore - Postcards
The track that started it all for Adore, Postcards is the debut single from the Galway/Dublin garage punks. This was their first ever recorded material along with Stay Free Old Strangers. It's a brilliant studio rendition of their thrilling live sound; a typically scuzzy, melodic romp careering from surf rock to Britpop, it beautifully captures their cool intensity.
2. Some Remain - Feel Low
Sligo's Some Remain have been with Blowtorch Records since we first saw their brilliant lockdown video in 2021 and they have since released several classic 7" singles. An early version of this track was featured in that original video and it has evolved into the title track of their debut 2025 Feel Low EP.
3. Nixer - Gentrification
Here for the first time on vinyl, Gentrification was Nixer’s fifth single and the archetypal dancefloor filler with a message. The track? Banging bass and drums and reverb laden guitar. The message? Distaste and restlessness in places they love. A yearning for cities full of life and culture, able to grow and flourish in hospitable surroundings.
4. The Savage Hearts - Silver Locket
Formed by ex-The Strypes drummer Evan Walsh, The Savage Hearts burst into our conciousness in 2024 with their devastating debut single Gang War/Speed Kills which saw a 7” vinyl release and quickly sold out. The follow up Speeding Bullets/Only Lovers Left Alive saw similar success. Silver Locket is the third single, available here for the first time on vinyl.
A Right Result side B (downstairs)
1. Virgins - b l o o m s
Belfast shoegazers Virgins give us a brand new cut for the showcase - b l o o m s. Ever restless, here they redefine their sound while exploring new emotional depths and expanding their soundscape. Shimmering verses explode into swirling choruses, accented by reverse delays and glide guitar. The euphoria inducing crescendo of fuzz and siren vocals releases the pressure valve of tension cultivated throughout the track.
2. Nerves - Through My Chest
Nerves are are an experimental punk band from the West of Ireland and their 2024 debut EP Glórach received rave reviews and quickly sold out its vinyl run. Now a four piece and, if possible, even more inventive, abrasive and loud, they have recorded an exclusive demo of a new track for this compilation.
3. Scattered Ashes - Kingdom
Kingdom was the first single taken from Scattered Ashes’ 2024 EP All That Is Solid Melts Into Air which saw a Blowtorch vinyl release. Recorded during the 2023 Dublin riots, the weighty lyrical concerns are offset by a glorious shuffle beat. Like the EP as a whole, Kingdom mixes a craving for a different, better life with angst and anger directed at worlds both personal and global.
4. iNNUENDO - don't ask away
iNNUENDO are a Dublin band who deliver 1975 as much as 2025. Their musical output is unconstrained by genre and don't ask away (their first Blowtorch Records single) delivers the art school outlook of early Roxy Music, Sparks and David Bowie. And also one of the best choruses of 2024.
5. The Swedish Railway Orchestra - Don Logan
Renaissance man Rob Smith - he is The Swedish Railway Orchestra - provided the brilliant artwork for this album and also contributed a brand new track. Don Logan is the fictional gangster from Sexy Beast as played by Ben Kingsley and this eponymous track is Rob’s whimsical tribute to (arguably) his favourite ever movie character.
