Sligo alt punks Some Remain have released new single Feel Low, the second to be taken from their upcoming debut EP of the same name.

Artist: Some Remain

Single: Feel Low

Release: May 16 2025

Sligo punks Some Remain have been working with Blowtorch Records since 2020. In that time they have released 6 standalone singles on streaming services and two 7" singles. They have now released a new single Feel Low to trail their debut 5 track EP, also called Feel Low, which will be released in July 2025.

As well as this new track, the EP includes previous single Death Defying Stunts, and three other new songs - Marvelous Medicine, On Tap and Henri.

The Feel Low single is their most ambitious track to date with a mix of dynamic energy, sonic textures and some of their typically chaotic instrumentation. It brings the band’s signature energy juxtaposed with softer elements and melody, compared to previous releases, as well as much more ambitious production. Although cut short on the radio edit, the full-length version features a long, gentle, psychedelic coda with a brilliant bass work out.

Like the Arctic Monkeys recognising that they couldn’t write tracks about lairy nights in Sheffield for ever, Feel Low features no characters or antics from Sligo. It’s a simple meditative take on those blank, grey days when nothing seems to go right. But with a self-deprecating dig at writing awful poetry.

The band play a single launch show in Furey's Sligo on Friday May 16, 9pm.

Some Remain are an alternative indie punk band from Sligo. Formed from busking on the streets of Sligo and having played all over Ireland, they deliver catchy hooks and chaotic noise in their high energy live sets brought about by feeling an absence of something like that around them and wanting to create something with some edge and fun.

They line up as (L-R) Jamie (Vocals), Matthew (Drums), Colm (Guitar) and Leo (Bass). Their recorded output manages to capture the high energy madness of their live shows which are noisy, unpredictable and always great craic. Feel Low was recorded and mixed by the band and Jamie Hyland (M(h)aol, Gilla Band) and mastered by Jamie Hyland.
