Heavyweight shoegaze outfit Silk deliver a vital new voice in the Irish alternative music scene. Silk is the new solo project from Virgins' guitarist/songwriter, Michael Smyth. Delving into the heavier end of shoegaze spectrum than his main project, he returns with the epic new single but then, yes, building on debut single Faze which grabbed instant attention from radio and press.

New single: but then, yes

Featuring vocals from AJ Das of Dublin's Picture Postcard (and previously Blowtorch favourites Fulvetta), it builds a soundscape which mirrors the song's lyrical concern. The words chart the evolution of connection between people over time, from platonic to romantic and into something deeper, capturing the electricity as emotions experience that slow but seismic shift.

It’s a focused snapshot of what Silk promise: heavy, fuzzy, dreamy.
