Melt is the debut five track EP from All Thumbs, an indie pop four piece from Galway. It's out now on all streaming platforms and a Blowtorch Records CD

Indie pop with two left feet. That's how All Thumbs describe their music. They like metaphors for awkwardness. They also fuse indie pop with psychedelic dreaminess, to create a refreshing break from post punk angst. As they say "Melt is a collection of songs drowned in frustration. At ourselves, at our government, and at the things we and the people we love do to survive in modern day Ireland." However the frustration is contrasted with charming melodic pop rather than angular anger.
You can detect influences from The Smiths and The Housemartins right up to Radio Free Alice. What elevates them is the beautiful harmonies between front person Rosa Kinsella and guitarist Ciarán Hearns.
After their debut standalone single Slipping and three trailing EP singles, Holly, Chalk and Cheese and No Spoilers, their excellent debut EP Melt is out now on all streaming platforms and CD.
All of the prior releases received rave reviews from Irish press and you can hear why - they are catchy, infectious, witty indie pop gems. You can detect influences from The Smiths, The Housemartins and Prefab Sprout right up to Radio Free Alice. What elevates them is the beautiful harmonies between front person Rosa Kinsella and guitarist Ciarán Hearns.
This stands them in good stead on new the tracks unveiled on the EP which veer more towards the slow paced introspection of Holly. The vocals on Melt and the demo of Mother's Day are almost folk infused in the close harmony pairing of the two voices albeit with the simpatico backing of the classic guitar/bass/drums combo.
This is not indie sleaze thrash - it's seriously sophisticated songwriting. We can't wait to see what 2026 brings from All Thumbs.
All Thumbs are made up of West of Ireland natives Rosa Kinsella (front person), Ciarán Hearns (guitar), Daniel Kinsella (bass) and Marcus McCambridge (drums).
