I Said You Said is the final taster before Goldbug's brilliant debut album Swings & Roundabouts is released on June 26th
Single: I Said You Said
Artist: Goldbug
Released: June 24 2026

Goldbug is the moniker of Irish/French artist Danilo Ward who regulars may already be familiar with, as he is the bass player in Dublin band of all living things who released their vinyl EP Cold Plunge via Blowtorch Records.
His debut album Swings & Roundabouts is released on Friday June 26. And after previous trailing singles Pendulum, Losing The Swing, Aqueduct and Blink, there is one more taster of this sumptuous slice of wonky, lo fi pop, rock, classical and electronica with the final single I Said You Said. Any fan of Talk Talk, Lou Reed, Mount Eerie or Bon Iver will find something to love in these songs.
Akin to watching a bee fly their unknowable, intricate patterns, listening to these songs is about surrendering to the sounds and the promise that beauty and meaning will entail.
On Swings & Roundabouts, Danilo struggles with his identity as a ‘third culture kid’. Raised by a Canadian/Irish father and a Swiss mother in southern France, he attempts to make peace with the fact that he will never fully feel a part of one place
Goldbug’s music is a mirror to this nomadic state of being. The nine songs are in a constant state of motion, twisting and turning to unlikely places, idiosyncratic and wandering in their nature yet always purposeful. Akin to watching a bee fly their unknowable, intricate patterns, listening to these songs is about surrendering to the sounds and the promise that beauty and meaning will entail.
Co-produced with Chris W. Ryan (NewDad, Chalk, Just Mustard), and mastered by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Big Thief, Sufjan Stevens), Swings & Roundabouts will be released independently on June 26 on streaming platforms and a limited run of 100 vinyl records.
There is an album launch show on Friday July 3rd in Dublin's Bello Bar, courtesy of Foggy Notions, with special guest Stella & The Dreaming on the night. Goldbug plays in Riga, Latvia, as part of LaDiDaDi Festival, July 8th.

Goldbug is the moniker of Irish/French artist Danilo Ward who is also the bassist in of all living things. Raised in a religious commune in the quiet isolation of rural Provence, his music draws inspiration from forgotten places and the creatures that inhabit them.
Now based in Dublin, Goldbug crafts songs that drift into unfamiliar territory, with sweeping strings, dusty mellotrons, splashes of brass, and his soft, hazy voice.
