If you need a shot of adrenalin this is the track for you. Scottish indie-punks Gallus have released their new single Wash Your Wounds. It follows their debut album We Don’t Like The People We’ve Become out now on Marshall Records.

It’s a rip-roaring track, opening with a drum section which announces the song and grabs your attention. Wash Your Wounds rattles along at pace with the lead vocal from Barry Dolan full of zeal.  Be warned – there is serious earworm possibility here!  The communal delivery of “wash your wounds” is hard to shake even after just one listen.

Lyrically the song expresses a shared determination to dig deep and rise above during challenging times, encapsulated by Dolan's distinctive dark sense of humour. Produced by the band and Blair Crichton of Dead Pony and featuring Tina Sandwich, Wash Your Wounds is a two and a half minute rollercoaster.

Speaking on the new single, Dolan shares: “The song was inspired by an actual wound on my foot, which required washing every day, so I started saying ‘wash-yer-wound’ a lot… When I came up with the chorus, it fit in nicely. Obviously, the song isn't literally about washing an infected toe. It’s a phrase that more broadly came to mean being stoic in the face of never-ending crises. No matter what, you must wash your wounds and face them head-on.”

Gallus formed in a pub of the same name, but you can see them on the road this spring. I’ll see you down the front.

Pissed Jeans share Sixty-Two Thousand Dollars in Debt a crushing new track about the heady excitement of shrinking debt-to-credit ratios, and a highlight from their forthcoming album Half Divorced which is set for release via Sub Pop on 1 MarchIt follows last month’s announcement of the album with lead single Moving On.

The Pennsylvanian hardcore band are known for their ferocious vocals, thunderous drums and wild guitars. Pissed Jeans comprise Matt Korvette (vocals), Bradley Fry (guitar), Randy Huth (bass), and Sean McGuinness (drums) and together they use a huge dollop of humour to confront the absurdities of adult life.

It’s hugely cathartic to throw caution to the wind and lose yourself in this riotous music. The scuzzy guitars on Sixty Two Thousand Dollars in Debt are thrilling and somehow the lyrics make you smile, even though it's about a horrendous situation. That is the joy of Pissed Jeans.

Pissed Jeans’ tour dates in support of Half Divorced begin on 29 Feb and continue throughout the spring in the US and then onto UK and EU.  Don’t forget your earplugs!
