Bulldozing rock duo Girl Tones release their latest single, Stubborn Mouth, via Parallel Vision and Big Loud Rock. Fully aware of their tendency to jump the gun and self-sabotage, the band doesn’t care to be called out. Delivered in a taunting kind of singsong, the new single is a playful ridicule. Masters of turning conflict into instantly catchy rock anthems, Girl Tones prove time and time again how they can take a dig at themselves while still dishing it out.

The band share: “This song is a vulnerable reflection on being headstrong and how it can ultimately deteriorate your own well-being and others around you.”

The single arrives in tandem with an official video directed by Austin Dickerson. Looking right at home performing inside the wood panelled walls of a retro house, Girl Tones can’t help but take a bite out of the forbidden fruit.

Girl Tones have staked their claim as one of the most exciting new acts to see live and continue to defend it. Already this year, they have toured in support of Dexter and The Moonrocks and Peter McPoland. With festival season underway, they have performed at SXSW and Treefort with The Great Escape, Bottlerock, Outside Days, Bonnaroo, Just Like Heaven and more still to come. Recently announced, Girl Tones will be supporting The Rare Occasions on their upcoming tour.

Canadian art punks La Sécurité (Montréal, QC) release the disco anthem, Deny via Bella Union & Mothland), effectively escalating catchiness to critical levels. This final single from forthcoming second album, Bingo! is set for release on 12 June. It combines driving four-to-the-floor cadences with nifty polyrhythmic bass lines, ear-catching guitar volleys, psychotronic synthesizer countermelodies, as well as the occasional complex-while-remaining-groovy drumfill. Atop this bounteous array of sonic stimuli, stern vocals expose a noxious relationship, the song eventually reaching its pinnacle by way of an epic four-part vocal canon.

La Sécurité share the following: "Initially written in French and translated to English, the song deals with dysfunctional relationships and getting rid of burdens in your life. Standing up for yourself. This doesn't work for me; I'm out. The bass hook was stolen from Standard Emmanuel, Félix's solo project...".

With the second full-length Bingo!, La Sécurité have crafted yet another genuine and inspired collection of beautiful curiosities. The five-piece implement polyrhythms, counter-intuitive chord changes, as well as subtle melodic and harmonic dissonance. The resulting forays into subversive pop are catchy and dancey, while also challenging the listener via eclectic, often edgy arrangements. The album sees the Montréal/Tiohtià:ke collective introduce even more elements from no wave, noise rock and shoegaze.
