Second release Ether follows lead single Kingdom before the new Scattered Ashes EP All That Is Solid Melts Into Air is out on June 14
Track: Ether
Band: Scattered Ashes
Released: May 9 2024
Out now from Scattered Ashes is Ether, the second single taken from their upcoming second EP All That Is Solid Melts Into Air. This will be released on June 14 and is the follow up to the lauded debut EP Parallel Lines which quickly sold out its vinyl run.
Ether is already a live favourite and the recorded version retains the energy and excitement with its up front repetition of the title refrain in the style of The Fall's Brix Smith. The erstwhile Salford legends are somewhat of a touchstone as far as this reviewer is concerned; the band cite a varied sonic palette of influences including Bauhaus, Interpol and The Altered Hours. Of the track they say Ether is "a meditation on paranoia, psychosis, and being haunted by the past."
All tracks on the EP are recorded and mixed by Dan Doherty (Fontaines D.C) and mastered by Pete Maher (Liam Gallagher, Echo & The Bunnymen)
Scattered Ashes are an abrasive Dublin postpunk four-piece capturing the imagination of renowned tastemakers across the globe.
After being heavily championed by Steve Lamacq, they opened up 2024 with a mammoth UK tour supporting Meryl Streek along with being named as one of LOUDER magazine's '10 Irish Artists You Should Be Listening To In 2024.'
The new EP All That Is Solid Melts Into Air available to order now on 12" black vinyl.
