The seeds of this collaboration were first planted in April 2025, when ChildsMind reached out to Nixer with a simple email: “Yoo what’s up man - big fan of your music. Been listening to Gentrification for a minute now, and honestly it really hits deep with everything I’m trying to do here throwing raves in every county around Ireland. It resonates heavy. I actually started messing around with a remix - just a rough idea for now, but I’d love for you to hear it and see what you think. Would there be any chance of grabbing the vocal for it? I wanna give this thing the best sound possible and do it justice.”
The collaboration began in earnest with conversations online, sparked by a mutual appreciation for each other's music. Those exchanges eventually led to a studio session in London in November 2025, when the pair finally found themselves in the same city.
That first session produced several club-focused ideas, instantly revealing a creative chemistry between Nixer and ChildsMind. In early 2026, ChildsMind returned with a fresh instrumental titled Fivers & Ciders, built with a Nixer vocal in mind. The result was an undeniable match.
Since then, Fivers & Ciders has quietly built a reputation on dancefloors before its official release. The track has been road-tested at raves, played in clubs and teased online, with listeners repeatedly asking for track IDs whenever it surfaced.
Fivers & Ciders arrives on all streaming platforms and marks the beginning of an exciting new collaboration between two of Ireland's most forward-thinking electronic artists.
Describing the track, vocalist Nixer states: “It's a new world for me. I am so open to the idea of my voice being the only instrument on a record. Across Nixer tracks I play many instruments, and it feels so liberating to stick to my favourite and most natural instrument when collaborating with ChildsMind on this new track”.
ChildsMind, who has been a big fan of the Nixer sound for years says: “I love Nixer’s vocal. I’m really tryna do the Irish thing right now with Rí Rá and Project 32, and there aren’t many other artists out there who bring the Irish energy like Nixer. I had an idea for a track, with production and lyrics, and I’m so buzzing with the crossover and how banging the track is. Excited for more with Nixer!”
