Dublin art pop band iNNUENDO are back with a new drummer and their first single release of 2026 Sizing Up ahead of their second EP in August
Track: Sizing Up
Band: iNNUENDO
Released: March 11 2026

Dublin-based art-pop quartet iNNUENDO return with new single Sizing Up, offering another sumptuous helping of their theatrical alternative-rock-meets-artistic-pop aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Kate Bush and David Bowie, the band bring together a sound which conjures elements of Fiona Apple, Geese, XTC, Florence And The Machine and The Police.
The new single captures the band’s sound in vivid, technicolour detail, blending driving synths, relentless drums, and theatrical, emotive vocals into a rich, compelling soundscape. The verses begin with minimal instrumentation, setting a tentative mood before building into a powerful, shout-along chorus that surges with energy and mirrors the electricity of the band’s live shows. As we have noted before, the band have a gift for infectious melody and this is on display throughout, enhanced by taut rhythms and sharp, choppy guitar which nod to artists like Geese and The Cure.
When asked about the track, the band explain: “Sizing Up came together quickly, sparked by the feeling of being constantly judged and boxed in by other people’s expectations. We built the track around that tense, late-night mood - like sitting alone in a dim bedroom while something unsettled lingers just beyond the door - and once the rhythmic synth sequence was locked in, the song found its momentum and you feel a sense of release by the time the chorus hits.
"Lyrically, it captures the turning point where outside pressure stops defining you. It’s about recognising what holds you back, letting it go, and stepping forward with clarity and intent. We produced the track in a single day with Janksy, and that immediacy is baked into the recording - raw, focused, and charged with purpose. It also became our go-to show opener, setting the tone from the first note and pulling the crowd into the right headspace for everything that follows."
Bringing a bold and vibrant world of sonic colour to the flourishing Irish scene, the 4-piece have built a reputation for blending contrasting influences since their formation in 2023, creating the kind of music they’ve always wanted to hear - dynamic, catchy, and unapologetically unique. Described by RTE 2’s Dan Hegarty as “music you feel obligated to share with anyone who will listen”, their sound combines a modern edge with a nostalgic and contagious energy, showcased in their charismatic and eclectic live sets.
Previous drummer Daniel Dennehy has left to be replaced by Dylan Richards with the iNNUENDO lineup completed by Nora Ronan taking lead vocals and keys, Ben Watson on guitar and John Kirk playing bass.
