Cork trio Ash Red release DB COOPER as a single ahead of their debut album The Foreign Game

SWEETS are a Limerick band membered with musicians from other local underground acts. They released their self-titled debut album in July 2024. Now, to showcase the talent in Ireland's South West and also to pen a love letter to the fertile scene which has nourished them, they have released a new EP Assortment.

It is a remix EP featuring reimagined versions of tracks from their debut, created by some of Limerick and Clare’s most vital producers and hip hop artists. The release landed August 25th, accompanied by a brand new original track I Heard which bookends the project.

The EP showcases the versatility of their material through the collective lens of renowned composers and producers MuRli, 40Hurtz, Andy Unscene and Paddy Mulcahy. The legendary MC God Knows also lends his lyrical prowess to a track.

Many remixes simply add a few extra beats, squelches or even just seconds to the original song. These all stand up as great tracks in their own right.

Each remix breathes new life into the original tracks — bending, stretching, and flipping them into unfamiliar shapes. This is not just a remix EP — it’s a celebration of the community, collaboration, and crossgenre creativity that define the Southwest’s ever-evolving sound.

The final track is a brand new original song I Heard, bookending this EP and maybe heralding the next one as a preview of SWEETS' next direction.
